The patented GFCI plug, a newer model of our original G1215PM, features an auto-monitor function that conducts a self-test every 5 seconds. This exceeds the UL standard of 3-hour self-test frequency, ensuring continuous protection against electrocution.
When the leakage current or ground-neutral fault reaches 4mA~6mA, this GFCI plug can break the circuit automatically within 0.025 seconds (25ms). Designed to withstand 20kV, 10kA voltage surges, it far exceeds the UL943 requirement of 6kV, 10kA, ensuring a long service life. The operating temperature range of -31°F to 150.8°F (-35°C to 66°C) makes it suitable for a variety of applications.
For added safety, the GFCI plug features surge protection and lightning protection up to 6 kilovolts. It has undergone extensive factory testing, with over 6,000 cycles – twice the UL standard. Strictly tested to or exceeding UL943 requirements, this GFCI plug is UL listed for peace of mind.
When choosing a portable GFCI plug from ELEGRP, consider the plug type (2-prong or 3-prong) and reset model (automatic or manual). Automatic reset GFCIs are suitable for applications where power restoration does not pose a safety risk, such as pressure washers, pool pumps, and vending machines. Manual reset GFCIs are recommended for dangerous power tools or lawn equipment, where automatic power restoration could be hazardous.
Installation is straightforward, with clear instructions on wiring the hot, neutral, and ground connections. Testing the GFCI plug is also simple – just plug it into a regular outlet, press the TEST button, and ensure the indicator light turns off. If the GFCI keeps tripping, it's a sign of an electrical leakage issue that should be addressed by a professional electrician.
